Abstract

The author has studied 906 case reports of patients with late postoperative purulent complications, iteratively admitted to purulent infection department during 5 years. 60 % of patients with late postoperative purulent were people of working age. Mortality rate was 10 %. 3 groups of patients were singled out regarding the time after the operation until readmission. Among all the complications, purulent infection predominated. 57,6 % of patients with postoperative purulent complications needed surgery. Postoperative complications in abdominal surgery after discharge from hospital were often registered and needed additional expenditures.
